With 75% of the population of Hong Kong on Facebook, it's no surprise that there is an incline in social media use in the roles we are filling with our clients.
In the content sector, our clients are putting more and more emphasis on recruiting for digital and social media content experts, both as a way of marketing themselves but also for advertising purposes. As such, content writers and marketers with social media exposure are very much preferred to more traditional content in many sectors.Interestingly, mainland Chinese applications such as Weibo and WeChat aren't as popular in Hong Kong as in China. That said, content experts on these platforms are sought after in Hong Kong companies that are trying to tap into the Mainland market.
It'll be interesting to see if these Apps take off further in Hong Kong and how long Facebook will stay the social media giant for.
